mary & rick, october 17, 2015, the sagamore, bolton landing, ny
We absolutely loved working with Mary and Rick on their wedding day. But honestly, it goes beyond that–this business is very personal in so many way ways, and getting to know our clients and hearing their stories is a big part of what I love about it. From my first conversations with Mary and Rick, I knew this wedding would be a lot of fun, but I also loved the uniqueness of what they had in mind. First, somewhat coincidentally, they happened to come fully equipped with the perfect wedding party! Between Mary and Rick, they had three boys and three girls, so the blending of their families was a very cool part of this day–seeing the interaction and hearing the speeches from each of the kids…well, this is what love and family are all about.
Mary and Rick were determined to have their ceremony outdoors on the Sagamore’s Lower Terrace–and who could blame them! In mid-October, though, Lake George can be chilly (or worse), rainy, windy…you get the idea. And in fact the day started out looking pretty sketchy. While it remained really cold for those in sleeveless dresses, the amazing October light and the foliage in the background and the joining of families and the pure joy Mary and Rick so clearly felt made this ceremony truly spectacular.
There was a lot more, of course, including a beautiful reception in Bayview…hope you enjoy our story of Mary and Rick’s wedding day. All the best to this great couple.
