It is a true honor to be chosen to photograph every wedding we do–most of our clients have never had any reason to hire a photographer, so there’s a certain leap of faith involved which I take as a huge compliment. Then again, in many ways it’s an even bigger honor to be chosen by someone who lives and works in the wedding business–after all, they’ve seen a lot of vendors, in all areas…and they’ve seen the results. They’ve seen how photographers work with their clients, and they often hear reactions from those clients after the wedding is over. So these people make their decision armed with a ton of information.

Anyone looking at wedding photographers in our region knows that the Sagamore Resort, in Bolton Landing on Lake George, is one of the most spectacular venues around. It’s world-class beautiful, and everything from the food to the service to the ambiance lives up to the gorgeous location. One of the many great things for couples getting married at the Sagamore is working with Erin, their amazing wedding coordinator. She’s always calm and completely together, and is a joy to work with. I’m so flattered to have been chosen to photograph Erin’s own wedding, and it was a truly great, great day.

Erin & Scott chose the Lake Placid Lodge for the festivities–it’s certainly very different from the Sagamore, but if you’ve never been there, I’ll say that it’s another place that will amaze you at every turn. “First Class” doesn’t really do it justice–the Adirondack decor combined with a level of luxury not often encountered is truly impressive.

But…weddings aren’t just about the location and the decor–they’re about the people. Erin & Scott are a super-fun couple, and the joining of their families was wonderful to witness. Anyone who was there will agree that the toasts given by Scott’s son Scotty and daughter Sadie were truly memorable. Scotty had the room in hysterics, and Sadie’s speech was very emotional and moving. These are the kinds of moments that make weddings so special, and makes me love being in this business.
