johana & jason’s engagement session, the stockade, schenectady, ny
Engagement sessions in the winter can be awesome, and really fun–but you have to have the right circumstances. Too cold, and it can turn into a torturous thing. Too warm, and it’s slushy and just a big mess. But a couple of inches of new snow and temperatures that are bearable…that’s what we look for.
When we were trying to schedule this shoot, I was afraid that Johana and Jason were going to think it was getting too crazy–constant changes to the weather forecast and my schedule were making it difficult to find a time that would work. But, as you’ll see below, we worked it out, and it all came together for us! One of the best things about this type of session is the opportunity to spend the time together and get to know each other, and this was certainly a great example of that–loved talking about their wedding plans, as well as all kinds of other things. All in all, Johana & Jason are an awesome couple…fun, down-to-earth, smart, and with an awesome dog, too! Thanks, Lily! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in October–this one’s gonna rock!
