laura & kurt at st. john the evangelist, the rose garden in schenectady’s central park, and wolferts roost country club (albany wedding photographer)

I liked Laura and Kurt from the moment we met, and knew their wedding would be a really nice, classy affair. What I didn’t know at first was just how perfectly everything would come together on their day, how great their families and friends would be to work with, and how much good old fun we’d have working together. The other thing that stood out to me was how totally fun and cool their four kids would be–definitely a great bunch!

We started out at Laura & Kurt’s house with some candids and getting-ready photos. Joanna and her assistant from Lipstick N Lashes were there doing hair and makeup, and the girls were looking great. Laura’s dress from Ferri Formals was gorgeous, as were the flowers–I always look forward to great work by Surroundings Floral Design, and I’m never disappointed. We always appreciate it when things are running on time, because working at a nice, relaxed pace always results in the best photos–this was a perfect example of that. Then we were off to meet Kurt and his family at Union College, across the street from the church–I love shooting there…it’s classy and elegant, with lots of variety of locations. Ceremonies at St. John the Evangelist are always spectacular, of course–they don’t build them like that anymore!

After family groups in the church, we headed up to the Rose Garden in Central Park. I’ve mentioned this location to lots of people, and it seems that very few have ever heard of it–it’s definitely a gem of a spot for photos, and we had a great time there, as well. Last but not least, we were off to Wolferts Roost Country Club, where Don Edmonds and his staff did their usual great job with food and service, and DJ Jeffrey Scott kept the dance floor packed! It had been a while since I had the pleasure of working with Jeffrey, and I’ll just say, that guy is great!

Hope you enjoy the photos from Laura & Kurt’s wedding!

Livy, Mia, Landon, and Olivia--you guys were great!

I love this shot--it took just a little coaxing, but I think it worked out!

See what I mean about the rose Garden? The place is beautiful!

Finally, a chance to just relax and enjoy each other in their first dance.

We captured all the emotions of Laura's dance with her dad, Mike.

OK, all together now--name the tune!

This was a first--I've heard of air guitar...but air photography? Doin' "the Tom" with the kids!

Definitely a great day…thanks Laura & Kurt!
