samantha & tim’s engagement session at the Historic Barns of Nipmoose (saratoga wedding photographer)

I seriously love my job, and Sam & Tim’s e-session up at the Historic Barns of Nipmoose was a perfect example of why–all the elements came together for us, and we got some great images. Well, you can be the judge of that…

First, if you’re wondering about the location, I’ll just say that this is a truly unique and spectacular spot. It feels like you’re going to the absolute middle of nowhere, but it’s really only 45 minutes from Albany, in northern Rensselaer County. After driving through some gorgeous farmland, as soon as the barns come into view, you can’t help but be struck with the beauty of the place. The weather contributed on our shoot day, too–perfect temperature, a nice breeze, and a crystal clear sky–so I was feeling like a kid in a candy store!

Next, since I’d only met Sam & Tim once before this, I was thrilled to find that they were up for everything I could think of, and they had some great ideas of their own, too.  I’m excited about their wedding day–I hope our luck holds out next January 5th, and we get another beautiful day at Saratoga National! 😉

I don’t want to forget one thing that always makes our shoots better–Sam’s hair and makeup were done by Alayne Curtiss’s crew at Make Me Fabulous in Ballston Spa. They never disappoint…

Simple things--light, expression, feeling--create such powerful images...

How cool are those aspen trees? And who ever heard of aspens around here!

OK, then. Look at Sam, rockin' some very cool shoes and looking just gorgeous here.

Did I mention that it was a little breezy?

Every time I asked them to do something, they made it look even better than I imagined it.

So...Sam, would your hair look good if you let it down? I thought so...

As the sun got lower, the light kept getting more and more perfect.

Thanks, guys!
