sam & tim at saratoga national, saratoga springs, ny (albany wedding photographer)
We started 2013 off with a bang! Sam & Tim’s January 5th wedding at Saratoga National was a ton of fun, and we got a range of photos to reflect all the emotion of the day. After all…that’s what we do.
You might remember these two from their engagement session blog post from last summer. It was definitely one of my favorite sessions of the year, and made me really look forward to their wedding day!
We started the day off at Make Me Fabulous salon in Ballston Spa. Based on prior experiences, I expected that the staff there would do an amazing job, and I was 100% right on that. Everyone looked stunning and, as always with the MMF crew, we were running right on schedule. After capturing some great scenes at the salon, we headed to the bride’s house for the final getting-ready photos. Our next stop was the Hall of Springs for Sam & Tim’s first look, followed by a stop on Broadway with the entire bridal party. We couldn’t have asked for better weather in early January–blue skies and a fresh blanket of white snow added something special to all of the outdoor shots. Everyone involved was a fantastic sport about being out in the cold–you’d never know that it was 30 degrees outside!
When we arrived at Saratoga National everyone was in great spirits, and the mood lasted all throughout the night–of course, it would be difficult not to have a great time in the company of such a fun and easy-going bride and groom. Credit is also due to the staff at Saratoga National–they always stay on top of everything and ensure the day runs perfectly. Working with banquet manager Danielle Robinson is great–awesome sense of humor she has, in addition to being so good at making everything perfect for the bride and groom.
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is the opportunity to work with all different kinds of people on an important day in their lives–and not just the bride and groom, but also their families and close friends. Imagine how the father of the bride feels while walking his daughter down the aisle, or what the groom’s mother’s emotions are as she shares a dance with her son during the reception. This was one of those weddings where it was clear how special the day was for everyone involved, and the families on both sides made it a perfect day. Sam’s dad, Chris, even whipped up a last minute bouquet for the bride that rivaled a pro’s work–talk about going above and beyond!
I think the photos from the day speak for themselves–I hope you get a sense of the great group of people we had the honor of spending our day with! Big, big thanks go to Sam & Tim, of course, and also the other wedding pros we worked with–as mentioned, the staffs of Saratoga National Golf Course and Make Me Fabulous; also DJ Mike Garrasi of Music Man Entertainment kept the party going and the dance floor busy all night.
